Efforts by NGOs focus attention on poor women. Their
aim is to train and provide them opportunities of self-employment to improve their
social and economic status. They also encourage the habit of thrift and credit
among them to improve the welfare and quality of life of the family and
community.
Skill development refers to the identification of skill gaps and developing the existing skills to enable a person to achieve his/her goals. The current generation lacks the necessary skills and there is a humongous gap between the skills existing in a person and the skills demanded by the industry.
Self Help Group
स्वयं सहायता समूह (SHG)
A self-help group (SHG) is a financial intermedairy committee usually composed of 10 to 20 local women or men between 18 to 40 years. Most self-help groups are located in India,group of people who are on daily wages, they form a group and from that group & NGO collects the money and gives the money to the person who is in need.SELF HELP GROUP (SHG) is a small voluntary association of poor people, preferably from the same socio-economic background. They come NGO for the purpose of solving their common problems through self-help and mutual help. The SHG promotes small savings among its members. The savings are kept with a bank.
